As we enter into the summer period (let’s be real guys, it’s the July-August, period) artists galore are dropping new tracks left, right and centre to kickstart the onslaught of parties and cruises over the next couple months.
Production/electronic DJ trio System32 are no different, having just dropped their latest song, M4TD (Man For The Day). The song features the vocals of Mical Teja (one-third of the group), Jay Nahge and Rochelle Chedz.
The single was released by Trinidadian-born Jillionaire’s own record label Feel Up Records.
If the name System32 doesn’t ring a bell, get familiar now. These guys have been at the forefront of the Caribbean Dance Music (CDM) scene in Trinidad and Tobago for some time. They’ve produced a number of hits including Machel Montano’s Waves, Olatunji’s Midnight Cruise, Preedy’s K.O., and Kerwin Du Bois and Ultimate Rejects’ Life Good, just to name a few.
M4TD is definitely a playlist-worthy track and one that I can see become a staple for DJs on the fete circuit and a favourite with the ladies.
With a hip-hop/R&B beat infused with a distinct Caribbean sound, M4TD has Drake-like vocals and rhymes from Jay Nahge and Mical Teja, paired with the light, airy sound of Rochelle Chedz (Imij and Co. vocalist), whose voice is a chill blend of Tinashe and Ellie Goulding.
What do you think of M4TD (Man For The Day)?
