Meet the New Leader Shaping the Future of Tourism in Turks & Caicos

Every so often, a leadership shift feels less like a changing of the guard and more like the start of something powerful.

That’s the energy around Hon. Zhavargo Jolly, the newly appointed Minister of Tourism, Agriculture, Fisheries, and the Environment for the Turks and Caicos Islands.

Officially stepping into the role in February 2025, Minister Jolly brings a mix of entrepreneurial experience, public service, and strategic vision that signals a new chapter for the country’s tourism industry — one focused on inclusive growth, innovation, and strengthening regional and global relationships.

What You Should Know About Tourism Minister Jolly

Before politics, Minister Jolly led Turks and Caicos Islands Capital, a private investment and lending firm. He holds a degree in Business from the University of South Carolina and an MBA from NYU Stern, with added leadership training from his time in the Marine Regiment, where he was awarded the Governor’s Award.

This blend of business savvy, discipline, and deep community roots positions him to lead a new era in TCI tourism — one that centres economic empowerment for locals and sustainable expansion for the destination.

“Leading the tourism sector is a responsibility I take very seriously,” said Hon. Jolly.
“I look forward to working with the team at Experience Turks and Caicos to build a sustainable, high-value industry while solidifying our reputation as a premier global destination.”

“He brings fresh energy and vision to the industry,” said Acting CEO Mr. Wesley Clerveaux of Experience Turks and Caicos. “We look forward to collaborating with him to advance the sector through innovation, strategic initiatives, and enhanced visitor experiences.”

Why This Is Bigger Than One Appointment

Minister Jolly’s appointment comes at a time when the world is taking a renewed interest in the Caribbean, and TCI is making strategic moves to stay ahead of the curve.

Whether you’re in the tourism industry, building cultural capital, or just invested in how Caribbean destinations tell their story, this is one appointment to watch.
